HELP
Quick links and orientation for BEAM CTRL v3.
Patch your lights (step by step)
Short guide in plain English. In the desktop app, open EDIT on the fixture bar (or the Fixtures tab), then tap Guide for the same steps inside the app.
-
1
What patching is
You tell BEAM CTRL which DMX address each real light uses, and which channel map (profile) matches that light. After that, sliders and cues talk to the correct fixture.
-
2
Choose a profile or type
Pick a starred profile if your model is in the library. Otherwise pick the closest generic type, or upload a JSON profile under the app’s Setup / Profiles.
-
3
Set universe and start address
The start address must match the menu on the physical fixture (often 1–512). Note how many channels it uses so the next fixture starts after it, not on top of it.
-
4
Add and read the map
Save each fixture and check the address map. Fix any overlap warnings before you rely on the rig live.
-
5
Test on stage
Use the DMX channel tester or per-fixture quick buttons to light one channel at a time. The fixture that moves is the one at that address.
-
6
Control during the show
On the Control tab, use the fixture bar to choose which lights follow the faders. Use Blackout if you need everything off quickly.

Quick links
USB DMX — INSTALL DESKTOP APP
Browsers cannot list your USB serial adapter. After you sign in to the full controller, open Settings → Desktop app and download the Mac or Windows installer (signed link from the server). The same flow appears after registration on the onboarding page. The marketing site also lists downloads under Desktop app on the home page.
DESKTOP CONTROLLER
Full UI: fixtures, programs, cues, chases, music, setup, settings. Open /app in a desktop browser (or from the Electron app).
MOBILE
Touch-focused control for live use. On the same network, open /mobile on your phone. The server shows a LAN URL under network info in the API if needed.
PROGRAM EDITOR
Standalone programs workspace: /programs (useful on a second screen).
Use the credentials configured on the server (environment defaults or registered accounts). Tokens are stored in the browser until you log out.
DOCUMENTATION
